Good Shepherd is currently in the process of evaluation and change. Come and be part of this exciting time of discovery of the Lord’s mission and ministry. Our spiritual leader is Pastor John C. Kolb who has been trained to be an Intentional Interim Minister. Pastor John C. Kolb received the blessing of life from the Lord in Michigan where he grew up attending Lutheran schools. He graduated from Colleges and Seminary in Wisconsin, Indiana and Missouri. His first Divine Call was in 1968 to Emanuel Lutheran Church in Arcadia, Indiana. While serving Emanuel, he completed a Masters program in pastoral counseling at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis he moved to Chicago and the position of Chaplain Resident at Lutheran General Hospital. From 1973 until 1978 Pastor Kolb served as a therapist in the psychiatric departments of Northwestern Institute of Psychiatry in Chicago and Evanston Hospital. From 1978 to 1998, Pastor Kolb was an outpatient marriage and family therapist with Lutheran Child and Family Services of Indiana and Kentucky. For eight years during those years, Pastor Kolb also served Hosanna Lutheran Church, on the northeast side of Indianapolis, which became the launching pad of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. He has also served Grace Lutheran Church in Northwest Indiana and Christ Lutheran Church in Anderson. Other ministries of Pastor Kolb have included, nursing home Chaplain, youth residential treatment center Chaplain, instructor at Concordia University’s Indianapolis Center, presenter of marriage seminars and “Children Coping with Divorce” seminars. He has served the church at large as an Indiana District Reconciler, who mediates with individuals and churches in conflict, led Pastors and wives retreats, helped develop a pastor’s wives organization, and a mentoring program for pastors. He has also served on various District and Synod committees Pastor Kolb is married to Charlene. They have been blessed with six children and eight grandchildren and two cats. One of Pastor’s favorite Scriptures is Ephesians 4:17-32.
